Intensive
Description
The Aikido Eastside Randori and Weapons Intensives have been held every year for nineteen years. In that time George Ledyard and the students of Aikido Eastside have developed a very systematic method for isolating the movement principles involved in handling multiple attackers as well taking an in depth look at the psychological components involved in Aikido which can hold one back from being able to optimize ones technique. The weapons training focuses on essential principles in the interaction between the two opponents / partners and connects the use of the weapons to the use of empty hand techniques in a way that should be of interest to any student of Aikido regardless of previous experience. 2007 was the first time we conducted the Intensive in another part of the country (The East Coast Intensive). In 2008 we will add to the number of venues with a South East Intensive in Tallahassee, FL.
The standard Intensives are open to anyone of 3rd Kyu or over (students should have adequate ukemi skills and at least a basic familiarity with sword and staff). They are limited to only 14 - 20 students (depending on the venue) so maximum attention from the teacher can be expected. This training is especially useful for students preparing for yudansha testing and instructors who are responsible for helping students prepare.
If you do not feel that this was one of the very best Aikido training experiences you’ve ever had, we will refund the seminar fee!

Report on the Intensive:
"Been there, done that, highly
--HIGHLY-- recommend it.
Very precisely conceived exercises in a clear progression of skills. Bar none,
no seminar I've ever attended has improved my skills so immediately.
I traveled from one end of the continent to the other to be there. I don't
hesitate to encourage others to do the same and intend to do it again myself."
