Aikido Eastside strives to offer the best Aikido
training available. To this end we have an array of seminars geared
for both the beginner and the advanced practitioner. Our advanced
seminars attract students from all over the United States and
Canada. Many of the attendees are practitioners who have their own
schools but come here to enhance their training.
Guest seminars
Some of the finest Aikido teachers in the world
have taught seminars at Aikido Eastside. Senseis like Mitsugi
Saotome and Hiroshi Ikeda, Frank Doran, Mary Heiny, Tom Read, Bruce
Bookman, Kayla Feder, William Gleason, Toby Threadgill, Howard
Popkin, etc. have all taught here. It is our goal to expose our
students to the finest Aikido and Aiki related teachers in this
country.
One Day Intensives
The average student these days cannot train six
or seven days per week. A serious student is probably attending
class three times a week consistently. This does not allow for
exposure to the full range of Aikido technique as taught to Ledyard
Sensei by his teacher, Saotome Sensei. The One Day Intensives give
the student a chance to address very specific areas of concentration
such as Two Sword, Sword / Empty hand Relationship, Striking
Technique, Falling, Paired Sword and Staff forms, etc. These classes
are various Sundays throughout the year from 9:00 am until 1:00 pm.
2-Day Beginner
Intensive
As the beginner progresses, he or she is ready
for more challenge. The two day intensive for beginners is held
every summer. It focuses on falling skills and basic technique and
is the perfect opportunity for the junior students to make a big
jump in their training.
4-Day Randori & Weapons intensives
Students from all over the United States and
Canada journey here to attend these intensive training sessions
which focus on multiple attacker defense (Randori) and weapons work.
Run twice a year on President's day Weekend and Labor Day Weekend,
these intensives have been so successful that Ledyard Sensei is
taking them on the road. Check the schedule to see if one will be
held near you.
Events Calendar
Our events calendar contains not only the events
held and hosted by Aikido Eastside but most major local Aikido
related events hosted by area dojos and organizations regardless of
affiliation. It is one of the most complete sources of information
about major Aikido events in the Seattle area.
Ledyard Sensei's Schedule

Sensei, this is a complete list of the events he is teaching both
local and around the US and Canada. All of the events he teaches are
